Getting Back Into The Swing Of Things
Atoning for my recent absence and setting the table for a big few weeks coming up...
Hello everyone!
I’m writing this on my 31st Birthday. I officially feel as old as The Ghoul looks and is. Minus the creepy lack of a nose, obviously. Ny nose is still fully intact, thank God.
On a quick note, if you haven’t watched Fallout on Amazon Prime yet, I strongly recommend that you do so as soon as possible. I actually never played the hugely popular and beloved video games - I’m only just doing that now - but you don’t need to have dedicated hours and hours on the games in order to enjoy the series.
While it is based on the franchise, obviously, the series itself is a standalone story and it is probably one of the best video game adaptions we’ve had. Right up there with The Last Of Us.
The story and central plot is compelling and engaging. The scenery and settings are just breathtakingly beautiful. And the characters and casting were perfectly done. I mean, Walton Goggins just hits it out of the park as the menacing / slightly creepy / disturbingly charming Ghoul. Also, is there anything Goggins can’t do?! That man has some incredible range. For instance, he’s currently in Thailand filming White Lotus Season 3, and I’m confident he’s going to be stellar in that too.
Anyway, with all cheerleading for Fallout / Goggins now done and dusted. I wanted to quickly touch base with you all on a few things.
Firstly, I apologize for my last post last week. That was a rushed hot mess and well below the standards of what I strive to create and maintain here. That just wasn’t good enough.
Secondly, I apologize for not following up on the promise of that post and by being quiet this past week. I’ve not been nearly consistent enough in terms of content creation for the last little while now, and that frustrates me greatly.
It isn’t like I’ve just been sat on my big butt doing nothing. It has been a busy period with some other work things I have going on but, hey, that’s no excuse. I’ve always promised to write on a daily basis in that space, and I haven’t done that. Period.
No lousy excuses.
Furthermore, things have gotten away from me the last couple of weeks so I haven’t covered the first couple of weeks of the baseball season anywhere near to my liking. I’ve been promising the rollout of a slew of new features, and I know you are all still waiting.
I can’t apologize for that enough.
I’m incredibly proud of the community we’ve built here at The Steele Sports Bar, and I know this is just the start.
I mean, we’ve had a plethora of new subscribers and followers in the last week alone, and that truly blows my mind.
You are all awesome. Every single one of you.
To that end, I owe each and every one of you a whole lot more. A whole lot more.
And I will. I promise.
So, on that note, I just wanted to reach out to firstly apologize, and then lift the curtain on what’s to come here.
As I’ve mentioned before, we are all about baseball 95% of the time here, and that will be the case going forward.
This week will be the week - finally - where I’ll start to roll out some of the aforementioned content. We’re only a couple of weeks or so into the 2024 MLB season, but so much has happened already and have I lot to say.
From a weekly column to interviews to features on players I’m loving right now, and so much more, expect to see an absolute bacchanal of baseball content on a daily basis starting this week.
I’ll also have some words on Jackson Holliday, because, frankly, I find it absurd that people are making such a big deal about the rookie phenom’s slow start. Perspective is needed. But I’ll have more on that this week.
Plus, I’ll have another edition of my Jets Diary up later this week with the NFL Draft taking place on Thursday. And, with the NBA and NHL Playoffs now underway, I’ve got a vibe check coming on both the Knicks and the Rangers.
All in all, I have so many big things planned for The Steele Sports Bar and I can’t wait to share them all with you.
I want to make this one of the best baseball destinations on the planet, but a happy place where we can talk football, hockey and basketball too.
Before I sign off and enjoy the last of my Birthday celebrations, because, let’s face it, actions speak louder than words, allow me to once again thank you all for your incredible support and loyalty.
What we’re trying to build here wouldn’t be possible without you.
I’ll pay back that support in kind.
I promise.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and here’s to a baseball-full week ahead, with some other sports goodies thrown in for good measure too.
See you on Monday.
Happy Birthday 🥳🎂
