Hello TSSB Patrons!
I think, for now at least, that’s a good nickname for all my loyal readers and subscribers. I’ve been searching for the perfect moniker for a while, and TSSB Patrons just feels right. It fits too. If you have a better or more creative suggestion, however, then I would love to hear it. Let me know below.
So, I’m working on a few things, but wanted to fire out a quick reminder about how you can support my work following a couple of changes to how we do things here at The Steele Sports Bar.
Before I do that, though, I did want to provide an update on something and give some clarity on my sporadic posting as of late.
Okay, so firstly allow me to apologize again because I have promised a bunch of times recently to be more consistent and post content every single day. It is important for the growth of this site, and also because there is so much to discuss and I hate missing out on the latest talking points in baseball. Plus, something special is happening in New York sports right now and I have lots to say on that.
Also, your support is invaluable to me and I appreciate that giving up your time and some of your hard-earned cash isn’t done lightly. There are a slew of other options out there and I need to make it worth your while.
I haven’t done that enough lately. But I will. I promise.
Anyway, for those of you who have been subscribed to the site for a while, you will remember that I was taken into hospital back in January with an infection in the stomach area. It wasn’t the best week I’ve ever had, and it took me a while to really get back into a groove. Although, in saying that, I haven’t really ever felt 100 percent since then. I’ve been constantly tired and fatigued, but I’ve been telling myself that’s more to do with my busy work schedule.
However, I think I’m wrong on that. I was notified earlier this week that there is a lot of inflammation around my bowel. As a result, I have to undergo a procedure next Saturday in order to investigate and get to the bottom of what is exactly going on. Hopefully, I’ll have some concrete answers by this time next week.
Now, I’m trying not to overthink this whole situation but that is easier said than done. If there’s one thing we as human beings excel at, it is overreacting to even the smallest of ailments and proclaiming ourselves halfway dead before we’ve even seen the doctor. Throw into the mix that I am a chronic over-thinker, then that’s the cherry on top of the hot fudge shit sundae.
In terms of what this all means for the site going forward over the next couple of weeks, I’m hoping not a whole lot. As I mentioned up top, I’m working on a ton of content right now and I want to get back into the routine of writing every single day as soon as possible. Things may be a bit slow next weekend given that’s when I’m booked in for the procedure but, other than that, I don’t foresee there being a massive or significant disruption.
All in all, I’m hoping next week brings good news and I can proceed with my plans to turn The Steele Sports Bar into an absolute juggernaut without any distractions or obstacles.
I will, of course, let you all know on what happens and if I do have to go quiet at any stage. I’m hoping that won’t be the case though, obviously.
How To Support My Work
Okay, so a little while ago I posted that I would be removing the paywall from all of my work here for the foreseeable future.
As a result, every single piece of content published on The Steele Sports Bar will be absolutely FREE.
I believe that to be the best decision for the site.
However, this is an independent reader-supported website. What does that mean? Well, your support is absolutely imperative when it comes to the future of this site. Without you, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do.
There are no adverts - nor will there be - and I don’t have any greedy and egotistical overlords telling me what to do. I see this project as a joint collaboration between myself and all my loyal readers, and we’ll run the site as we see fit.
On the flip side of that, though, I do rely on your support to help keep this site going. I will also need your assistance to help provide independent coverage and to help support things like travel so I can bring you the kind of unique baseball content you truly deserve.
Again, all content will remain absolutely FREE to all readers and subscribers. But, if you are able to, upgrading to a paid subscription would ensure the continued growth of The Steele Sports Bar:
Alternatively, if you don’t wish to pay the full price of a subscription, you can support my work by using the Buy Me A Coffee site:
A subscription to The Steele Sports Bar would also make the perfect gift for a family member or friend:
As always, your support is forever appreciated and means the world to me. I’m thrilled you have decided to join me on this journey. I’m beyond pumped to show you what I have planned for the site over the coming weeks and months.
Before I go, you can also follow my other baseball work at the below sites:

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. I’ll see you on Monday.
