Let's Play Ball! ⚾️
With the start of the 2026 Major League Baseball season upon us, I just wanted to quickly share my plan for the next seven months or so...
Happy Opening Week!
Baseball is finally back with Opening Night on Wednesday between the Yankees and the Giants, before a full slate of Opening Day games on Thursday. Blame Netflix for the slightly fragmented start to the season.
Anyway, this is always a magical time of year. It is for me, at least. Baseball, along with hockey, is my favorite sport on the planet, and I have always found something so magical about Opening Day. That first day of the regular season is just so special, and I make sure to enjoy every single second of the first weekend of the new year.
On a more personal note, this will be my third full season covering the Mets for a couple of different outlets, and my third season getting to write about baseball every single day on this platform. I have never taken for granted just how lucky I am to get to do this full-time, and I never will. Getting to cover the Mets for Just Mets and Metsmerized is a real privilege, as is getting to talk baseball with all of you on a daily basis.
And, on that note, I just wanted to quickly outline the plan for the rest of this week, and for the 2026 Major League Baseball season overall.
In terms of this week, I’m running a little behind schedule if I’m being honest (the season really did creep up on me), so expect your inboxes to get blasted a lot over the next few days. I apologize in advance. I’ll be posting a bumper 2026 MLB predictions roundtable either tonight or tomorrow, which is something we did last year and had a lot of success with. I also have a slew of other preview content planned, which I’ll be posting over the course of the rest of the week and the weekend in order to help get you all excited for the first few days of the season.
Then, as far as the rest of the season is concerned, I plan to write about baseball three or four times a week, if not more. I’m going to do a weekly column packed full of fun things, in addition to a handful of new features. I’ll be putting all of my baseball content under the “Around The Bases” banner, which should make it easier to follow all of my baseball coverage throughout the 2026 season. I am also planning on bringing back the podcast finally, and I’m leaning towards making it baseball-specific. Stay tuned for that.
All in all, I’m really excited for the next several months, and I hope you are too. As always, your support makes all of this possible, and I hope everything I have planned for this season gives the baseball fans among you a little bit of everything.
Enjoy the start of the season, and here’s to a fun-filled next seven months or so.
