The start of a new week can mean a whole slew of different things to a wide-range of different people.
For some, it could be just getting through the dreaded Monday blues and navigating the first day of the working week no matter what it takes.
For others, the start of a new week represents the chance to hit the reset button, to start anew, to set some lofty goals and then achieve them, to better their life in some tangible way.
For me, it means the start of a brand new adventure.
Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere but, by the end of this week, this website will look very different. And hopefully feel different too.
In all the positive, wonderful ways of course.
Yes, I am myself hitting the reset button and pulling the trigger on a major site rebrand of Blogs Of Steele.
Although, it won’t carry that name for much longer.
Come the end of this week, this website will have a different name, a different look and a different, more refined, more focused, more driven mission statement.
What will the new name / new look be you ask?
Well, I don’t mean to be a tease but you will just have to wait and see!
What I can say is that the new name, the new look, the new identity, will be centered around the site’s main purpose of covering Baseball.
As you may remember, a few months ago I took the decision to pivot and revamp our coverage. Rather than trying to act as an authoritative voice on a myriad of different sports and topics, I wanted to hone the focus towards just one sport and dedicate everything towards that one subject.
Baseball was the pick.
It was an easy choice because I absolutely love Baseball and, at this point in my career, it is the sport I’ve covered the most. It was just the natural fit.
However, while the approach changed, nothing else did. Not the name, not the look and not the overall feel of the site.
And it just didn’t sit right with me.
The site I launched eight months ago is not the one you see before your very eyes right now. The mission isn’t the same. The goals aren’t the same.
Plus, while the Blogs Of Steele name served a purpose at the time of launch, it just doesn’t reflect what the site is and what the site will be going forward. And it doesn’t reflect the lofty goals and ambitions I have for this site.
It just doesn’t seem professional to me. That’s been the persistent little voice inside my head over the last couple of months, a voice that has just been getting louder and louder and louder.
So, something needed to change.
I want to establish this site as a juggernaut within Baseball media circles, a one-stop place where fans of America’s National Pastime can flock to and satisfy all of their Baseball cravings.
That’s what I want this site to morph into. And I really do believe we will get there.
And giving the site a makeover, a fresh lick of paint and a bold, new, attractive exterior is the first step towards achieving that goal.
I’ll dive more into the overall direction for the site and what you can expect to see over the coming months later in the week.
For now, I just wanted to give you all a heads up that, at some point this week, you will log on and see a rather different looking site with a brand new name.
I wanted to give you a little warning at least.
But you are going to love it. I promise.
Here’s to an exciting new era ahead for this website.
And here’s to starting off a new week in the right way.
Happy Monday, all!
