What To Expect From TSSB This Baseball Season & What's On Deck
Providing a clearer picture of what the newsletter will be looking to deliver. Plus, a breakdown of the content we'll be delivering in the buildup to Opening Day...

This time next week we will be basking in the glow of regular season baseball.
Opening Day is now less than a week away and I couldn’t be more excited for the 2025 Major League Baseball season.
And, on the cusp of a new year, I thought it would be a good time to provide a refresher on what to expect from The Steele Sports Bar now baseball season is upon us.
When I first rebranded the newsletter to TSSB, I did so with the goal of creating my very own corner of the internet where I could write about what I wanted when I wanted. More specifically, I wanted a place I could go to and unload the dozens of sports thoughts that float in and out of my brain on a daily basis.
That’s why, on occasion, I’ll empty the mental notebook and post a random torrent of sports musings. I enjoy writing those kind of articles, and the quick hits format tends to be popular among readers.
All of what I said above will still be true moving forward. This newsletter is effectively a vessel to talk and write about sports every single day, and I’m thrilled that you all allow me to live out that dream.
Again, I really couldn’t do any of this without your support, subscriptions and readership, so I can’t thank you again.
However, with baseball season now here, and given that I cover MLB - and the Mets specifically - for a number of outlets, there will be a much bigger slant towards baseball over the next several months.
Now, given that a lot of you are baseball fans, I don’t think that will be a problem at all.
But, for those of you who follow other sports, don’t worry, there will always be something for you too.
I plan on publishing a weekly quick hits newsletter where I touch on a plethora of sports topics outside of the baseball arena. With the NFL Draft next month, in addition to the start of the NBA & NHL Playoffs, I’ll also be looking to put out some opinion pieces on the latest hot topics and juicy storylines.
Furthermore, I will be introducing a video element to The Steele Sports Bar over the coming weeks, where I’ll give my opinions on a slew of different subjects in under five minutes clips. Plus, The Andrew Steele Podcast will also be making a comeback soon, and I’ve already got a guest confirmed to come on and talk all things NFL around Draft time.
So, in short, while the majority of the content produced over the coming months will be MLB related, I will strive to make sure that every single reader and subscriber is catered to when it comes to your personal sports preferences.
The Steele Sports Bar was built for the everyman sports fan. That will always continue to be the case.
Now, here’s what to expect from the site over the next week or so as we edge ever closer to Opening Day…
What’s On Deck

Due to other project deadlines, I have been slack on Opening Day content over the past few weeks.
However, with just six days remaining until the regular season gets underway, I have a lot of catching up to do and I’m ready to flood your inboxes with a slew of preview content over the coming days (I’m sorry for the mass emails in advance. No, really I am).
So, on that note, here’s what you can expect coming up:
Divisional breakdowns - I’ll be taking a deep look at each division as we edge closer to the regular season, profiling every team, every must-watch player and prospect and taking a look at the biggest burning question for each team;
Storylines - Between now and Opening Day, I’ll share the biggest and most compelling storylines that are intriguing me. This will also be a regular feature throughout the regular season;
Questions & Predictions - I’ll also dive into some of the biggest questions I want answering in 2025, before making some bold and not so bold predictions for the year;
Roundtable - I’ve enlisted the help of a number of the very best baseball writers on Substack, all of whom will be sharing their 2025 MLB award winners, division winners, wild card picks, World Series prediction and one reason they are excited for the new season. This will be published the day before Opening Day;
Players I Love To Watch - I watch an unhealthy amount of baseball and, therefore, there are a ton of players I love to watch. I will be writing essays on as many of those players as I can in the buildup to Opening Day, and beyond that point, too;
Around The Bases Column - My weekly ‘Around The Bases’ column, which will touch on a number of subjects in baseball, while also including my favorite plays of the week, most notable storylines, favorite box scores, mailbag questions and lots more, will debut this coming Monday as a dry run version before Opening Day;
Top 10 Lists - MLB Network has been publishing its list of top 10 players at each position, and I’m going to attempt to do the same. I will also share the top 10 prospects I’m most excited about, my top 10 bounce-back candidates, my top 10 breakout players to watch and much more! Although I wanted to do all of these a lot earlier, these will still be relevant if we stretch into the opening couple of months of the regular season;
Video - As mentioned up top, I will be introducing a video component to the site and newsletter shortly. I plan on posting weekly clips with my views on the latest news and hottest talking points from around Major League Baseball, and I’ll have a guest to join me every now and then too.
I also have a lot more ideas up my sleeve so, again, expect the site to be manic over the next few days as we race towards Opening Day.
And, once we get there, there will be a steady stream of baseball content on the site every single day as I aim to provide unique analysis, opinions and insights that you won’t find anywhere else.
Baseball is my fiercest passion, my biggest love, and I can’t wait to have the greatest sport back in our lives every single day for the next several months.
And I can’t wait to write about it and talk about it with all of you every single day, either.
Opening Day can’t come fast enough.
